I never found out but I ended up using Sonics pricing to negotiate a better deal from ATT after calling.Went through similar issues with AT&T when I moved last June. They wanted to charge me an $80 installation fee even though I have my own modem so I was doing the install. So I said screw em and went with Xfinity. I also just have the basic internet, $20 for 20 down and it's plenty for one person to be streaming and surfing the internet ...Sonic labels AT&T resold fiber as Fusion IPBB-F. Pricing is also usually obvious (at least for our area). Sonic direct fiber starts at $39.99/month with no promotion. The resold service from AT&T goes for $69.99. Currently have Xfinity/Comcast in an apartment and regularly get speeds faster than what we pay for. Typical speeds are 130/25 and we pay 39.99 a month. The biggest thing people need to understand is that the cable company is only half to blame for poor internet connectivity. Pricing. As different as these two ISPs are, Xfinity and Fios are actually relatively similar in the prices offered per Mbps. Though Xfinity has more affordable, lower speed plans, its 300 Mbps ...AT&T or Xfinity I can't decide which offer is better. I already have installed Xfinity but if I switch soon I could return my modem and get AT&T: AT&T: 300 Mbps for $55/mo with autopay discount, plus $100 gift card and free installation + paying for cancellation fees (but i'm not in a contract).
